TECHNOLOGY, ART AND EDUCATION ARE THE PASSIONS of Mrs. Filber who feels very blessed to be a part of the technology teaching team and providing Art options at New Testament Christian Academy. She loves the mandate that the staff and students are mindful of on a daily basis, and that is, in all of what they do, they strive for “Excellence without Excuses”. As lesson plans are prepared and projects for the students are designed the teachers are always mindful that it is unto God that we do all of our work. Mrs. Filber loves the leadership of the administration that inspires the teachers to consider the legacy they are leaving at the academy and the imprint they are making on student lives.
Mrs. Filber has been working as a software consultant for over twenty years. She worked primarily in software design, website creation, database design and application support and training. She holds a Masters of Science in Education degree from Concordia University focusing on Educational Design and Technology.
Mrs. Filber is looking forward to taking advantage of the many online tools that are available to educators to inspire student learning and creativity. Students will be learning how to program, how to become bloggers, how to create and publish digital stories, how to navigate and use the many Google tools, and learning what it means to be a digital citizen among many other projects throughout the year. Students will be creating many new Art designs as well with Water Color, Drawings, and catching some of the latest art crazes by making their own Holiday Gnomes and painting rocks! So much art to enjoy, so little time!
When she’s not working in her garden you'll find Mrs. Filber watching the latest episode of The Chosen. She and her family enjoy camping in Wisconsin, riding bikes, and playing with their very high energy Corgi, named Trooper. Mrs. Filber also loves to tell stories and you might just see her around NTCA as "Miss Rosie" visiting the 3K and 4K classrooms.
